Open until Dec 22nd, 2025. ($40,000) To fund early-phase studies in promising new directions of clinical brain or mental health research, with the potential to develop into a new area of investigation with sustainable funding from other sources.
Open until Dec 22nd, 2025. ($30,000) The purpose of this fund is to support research activities at the University of Calgary related to the study of Cerebral Palsy.
June 1 and December 1. ($10,000) To support the ongoing research success of its members, the HBI has funding available for small equipment repair, replacement or purchase.
Supported by the RHISE program, open applications are available for research visits with international partners and proposals for new partnerships and initiatives.

HBI Community Connect provides modest funding for informal gatherings to strengthen connection, collaboration, & sense of belonging across the institute.
Alberta Neuroscience (ABNeuro) was developed to connect partners across neuroscience and mental health in Alberta. With a network of over 1000 members spanning research, education, commercialization, healthcare, community organizations, and government, ABNeuro brings people together to collaboratively solve problems in neuroscience and mental health. ABNeuro manages and administers research and trainee funding competitions, organizes internationally attended courses and workshops, hosts events and seminars, and supports knowledge mobilization projects engaging community partners.
