Biography

Dr. Justyna Sarna is a neurologist in Calgary with a subspecialty in Movement Disorders. She obtained her Bachelor of Science with Great Distinction in Biochemistry from the University of Lethbridge. She became involved in research in the undergraduate years and subsequently enrolled in the Leaders in Medicine combined MD/PhD program at the University of Calgary. She studied neurodegeneration in animal models and after finishing her degrees pursued a five-year Neurology residency at the University of Calgary. She was fascinated by Movement Disorders early on in her training and following residency, completed her fellowship at the University of Calgary.

Dr. Sarna is interested in all aspects of Parkinson’s disease and prides herself in compassionate care of patients with this diagnosis through early to advanced stages.

She is involved in clinical research trials as well as teaching of both medical students as well as residents.
