Areas of Research

Neural mechanism of auditory perception and hearing deficiencies

Our research interest is in the neural wiring for hearing. We specifically focus on the corticofugal (descending) system, the thalamocortical (ascending) system and the cholinergic (modulatory) system in order to understand auditory information feedback processing for top-down selection, sound-guided neural plasticity for auditory learning and experience, and hearing deficiencies.

Our research continues to move forward along this path via the use of, but not necessarily limited to, electrophysiological and pharmacological approaches.
