Biography

Dr. Jayna Holroyd-Leduc is an academic geriatrician, Professor and Head of the Department of Medicine at the University of Calgary and Alberta Health Services (AHS) Calgary zone. Her research utilizes knowledge translation (KT) science to improve care for older adults across the care continuum, including those living with cognitive impairment and frailty. She is the Academic Lead for the OIPH Brenda Strafford Centre on Aging and the UCalgary Brenda Strafford Foundation Chair in Geriatric Medicine. She plays a leadership role within the Canadian Frailty Network, and was previously an Associate Editor for the Canadian Medical Association Journal (2010-2020).

Dr. Jayna Holroyd-Leduc is the Academic Lead for the OIPH Brenda Strafford Centre on Aging and the UofC Brenda Strafford Foundation Chair in Geriatric Medicine. Her major research interests involve the use of knowledge translation (KT) science to improve the care provided to older adults. Her research has focused in the areas of dementia, delirium, frailty and care across the continuum. She collaborates with researchers across Canada on a number of important research initiatives. More recently, she has also been collaborating on a number of initiatives exploring EDIA (equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility) and the culture within Medicine, as well as leading an initiative to rethink facility-based continuing care and address ageism.
