The Hotchkiss Brain Award for Excellence in Brain and Mental Health
This award reflects the commitment of the HBI to education and training the next generation of research leaders in brain and mental health. This award will allow the HBI to support outstanding PhD graduate students that exhibit excellent knowledge of their field of study.
Eligibility: This award is open to all PhD students who are registered full-time in the MDNS graduate program in the Cumming School of Medicine who are under the supervision of a full member of the Hotchkiss Brain Institute. For co-supervised students, the primary supervisor must be a full member of the HBI.
As well, the student will be considered for this award after they have completed their second year in the PhD Program and successfully completed the Field of Study examination.
Students will only be able to receive this award once in their PhD program.
Value: $2,000.00
Number of Awards: Variable, depending on funding

Application Requirements: Applicants will email the Education Coordinator with information that includes their name, name of the Supervisor(s), the graduate program they are in, the year they are currently in their PhD Program and the date they successfully passed the Field of Study Examination.
Other note: Due to limited number of spots in a given year, students can only apply once per year and priority, assuming all things equal, will be given to the more senior of those in the program. However, students are welcome to apply every fiscal year until they are successful.
Award cycle: Rolling from July 1st to June 30th.
