CaPRI Graduate Student Scholarship

This award reflects the commitment of the Calgary Parkinson Research Initiative (CaPRI) team to education and training the next generation of research leaders in movement disorders, such as Parkinson’s. This award will allow the HBI to support outstanding graduate students to innovative, translational research training programs through the offer of highly competitive scholarships.

Eligibility: Open to graduate students registered full-time in a graduate program in the Faculty of Graduate Studies who are under the supervision of a full member of the Hotchkiss Brain Institute that is part of the Movement Disorders Team. Application must be made prior to, or within, nine months of commencement of graduate program. Or within nine months of transferring from the MSc to PhD programs.

Duration: One year

Terms: This scholarship will be matched each year by an expected amount from the recipient’s supervisor, which will be noted in the award letter.

Students holding this award are expected to apply for external awards or grants for which they are eligible, including those from provincial or national agencies. Students that are successful will need to inform HBI of any other external supports they received during the tenure of this award. 

Students must be able to take up funding within 6 months of the application deadline date.
