Research activities

The focus of my work is on the longitudinal epidemiology of major depression, particularly in the adolescent and young adult age range. My ultimate goal is to integrate epidemiologic estimates of incidence, recurrence, prevalence, episode duration and mortality, and the determinants of these factors, into a comprehensive epidemiologic picture. I have expertise in methodological approaches to the analysis of longitudinal and cross-sectional data, sampling, measurement and data collection. In the Department of Community Health Sciences, I teach CHSC/VETM 740, Advanced Epidemiology. I hold the Cuthbertson & Fischer Chair in Pediatric Mental Health.
